Media point at “Voskhod” ice rink

Since November 23, a live music studio – Media Point – has been responsible for the best music at the “Voskhod” ice rink.

This winter season you will enjoy live music while skating. Up to 500 DJs, musicians, e-producers and bands will play live concerts until March, 2020. Your skating session will be accompanied by music sets in various styles and genres, starting from trip-hop and downtempo to psychobilly and post-punk.

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night the ice rink will turn into an outdoor concert venue. The Media point is located between the Central pavilion and the fountain. Signing sessions, new songs and dazzling artists are here in Gorky Park though the winter! Live broadcasts are available on the park’s social network pages.

Artist: Krasavtsy Love Radio

The hosts of the morning show “Krasavtsy” (handsome men in Russian) on Love Radio Denis Kurochkin and Alexandr Sokolov will hold their show in the Mediapoint of the “Voskhod” ice rink. Oleg Ternovoy, the winner of the TV music project “Songs”, will visit them as a guest. Enjoy good jokes, games and competitions, while the luckiest of you can win branded travel mugs.

Artist: P22

P22 is a creative project by Ivan Dalmatov and Ivan Privalov. They play brand new stylish electronic pop-rock “with a heart”. The guys’ collaborations dates back to 2010-s, the first joint project was called “Fanatika”. Since 2017 the musicians reconsidered their music and thus launched the P22 project and a production center of the same name.

Artist: MyHoliday

Moscow band MyHoliday is known as a high-profile representative of the Russian trip-hop stage (Bandcamp included them into Ten Artists Keeping Trip-Hop’s Eclectism Alive” together with Thievery Corporation, Submotion Orchestra, Emancipator, Slowly Rolling Camera и Morcheeba). Last autumn MyHoliday released a new album which plunge you into sweet tempting melancholy. Their music is an ideal soundtrack for a slow ride through the ice paths of the evening park.

Artist: Igor Wild & Striker Damon

Best graduates of the international DJ school PRO STEREO Igor Wild and Striker Damon picked tracks from Space Disco and Electronica genres for their two sets.  The musicians mean to recreate retro spirit and space vibes. The guys take inspiration in Zodiac, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Arpadys while compiling their sets. Join space enthusiasts – our meeting place is the Mediapoint, our space vehicle.

Sasha Epstein is a charismatic electronic musician, producer and DJ. He is welcome in both small atmospheric clubs and large music festivals. The DJ has prepared a progressive house/electronica set for the Space party on the ice rink.

ON ROBOT band is all about the mix of disco, electronic music with loud synthesizers and mic stand dances. Their sets look like an adventure on the rollercoaster with a disco ball in hand. The guys invented their own genre dubbed robosynt and gave gigs at numerous festivals in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and Sochi. ON ROBOT will present tracks from their new album “Glitter”.

Moscow Shootki band is considered to be one of the leaders of the Russian ska and ska-punk music. Their first rehearsal took place back in 2000, since then they have never stopped with new gigs and albums. On March 1, Shootki will make you heart melt on the “Voskhod” ice rink.

Artist: The Neopolitans 

The Neopolitans are the musicians and also citizens of a fictional city in a parallel universe. Their electronic indie-rock sounds fresh and sharp. Within four years the acoustic duo that had been playing in cozy bars turned into a vibrant like-minded team ready to pack stadiums. The musicians have two mini-albums and several singles, while tens of gigs in the Russian cities are behind. Now the Neopolitans are working on a full-fledged album. The Neopolitans’ music allows you to feel the energy and rhythm of a big city, its vibrancy, lights, as well as solitude and love.

Akmelika band is a psychedelic ambrosia made of tropic lounge, swampy funk and trip-rock/ Another ideal match with the space concept of the “Voskhod” ice rink. Artist: Neon Tapehead

Neon Tapehead mixes R&B, electro-funk, neo soul, nu-disco with indie dance and soul vocal in English. In 2019 the band re-formed and changed significantly their sounding. The same year they released four singles which were highly appreciated by radio stations and music blogs in the USA, Australia and Europe. Neon Tapehead is currently working on a new single which will be premiered in the Mediapoint on February 22.

This power-trio is familiar to the fans of the Russian heavy psych and the 1970-s psychedelia. The boys united after a break to continue their hardline music. The band came back to rock the stage on the waves of the 1970-s with its guitar riffs and cowboy vibes.

Two brothers with a “single” heart and music taste will meet in the Mediapoint. Six years ago they left Moscow and headed to the sea to play disco, funk and hip-hop sets. Artist: Sasha Naiman

Musician, composer, audio engineer, DJ, producer and sound designer – and this is not the entire list of Sasha Naiman’s activities.  His music combines neoclassic, trip hop, cinema motives and many other elements. The year 2019 was a fruitful one for the musician: he released two quite different albums: “Solar System” and “Colors” and took part in the Alfa Future People festival. Sasha Naiman is currently working on his new album “Halloween”. Sasha’s romantic space electronic music is familiar to visitors of the “Voskhod” ice rink. It will be an ideal soundtrack to start the Valentine’s evening.

Try your luck at winning headphones, ukulele or guitar. Come on, serenade your beloved in earnest, while Gleb will ensure fair and transparent battle. Funk music is about broken beats and groove – a subjective but still a pronounced “sense of groove”. The Diasonics band advocates for a so called “hoosar” vision, adding dramatic, romantic vibes to their funk. The Diasonics’ music is instrumental funk and soul from dusty vinyls flavoured with organ and percussion. The band has prepared a special big set about affaires d'amour for the Valentine’s Day.

Artist: ODA MAE

ODA MAE is a solo project of ex-participant of Venger Collective, MyHoliday and Diatonique bands – Maria Kryzhanovskaya. The musician felt ready to start a solo career after several joint albums, European and Russian tours, concerts with We Fell to Earth and gigs on Rock on Roof and Tribute to Summer music festivals. Her lyrics is about frustration, reflection, consciousness and personal freedom and power.

Artist: Azole

Azole’s music is a mixture of retro-house and synthpop's first wave. The band appeared as an experiment of two rock musicians, who dug into electronic music so deep that forgot about their guitars.  So, the terms “four-on-the-floor beat”, “fat synths? rooted in the guys’ vocabulary.  The guys will play their new program, encouraging you to dance right on the ice.

Founded in 2015, GANA is a collaboration of independent musicians: Anna Nosacheva (ex-participant of The Bakhroma band, Kiev), Alexey Zavgorodny, (actor and a participant of the Youtube Symphony Orchestra, New York) and Sergey Roshchupkin, a former professor of the Gnessin State Musical College. The band has been brave in experiments from the very start: indie-electronic and electro-pop songs neighbor art-performances with orchestra. This summer the musicians supported a UK band HAELOS in St. Petersbutg and released a new EP in autumn.

Rarka is an independent band from Moscow. Their music is a mix of various styles, although deep vocal and a  shadow of dancing melancholy are on top of this music eclecticism. The band’s first single “Pozhar” (Fire) helped to reach semi-finals of a music contest from the New radio station. Rarka has already dozens of concerts and live-performances on the radio stations.

Artist: Anton Lavrentyev

Musician and poet Anton Lavrentyev is famous for being a host of "Oryol i Reshka. Shopping" TV show and the one who had advanced to the semi-finals of the "Voice" music TV show. Anton has prepared a unique music performance for his concert in the Mediapoint: crazy dancing beats will change sentimental lyric songs, adding that romantic vibe to the atmosphere on the ice rink.

AID is an independent band from the cradle of space exploration – the town of Korolyov, Moscow region. The guys mix funk and alternative rock, though being open for new music experiments. Alexander, Igor and Dmitry took the first letters of their names to form the band’s name AID.

Sasha Frid is among those singers and songwriters who delicately mix jazz and pop.  Her magic music transfers you into a fairy-tale world of dreams. In January Sasha Frid released a mini-album “klishe. nezhno” with a beautiful and deep songs about different life situations.

Anton Konev likes various electronic music, balancing between indie-dance and melodic deep-house. The DJ has been hosting house music podcast called Night Drive for over two years. Anton is preparing a “light, dancing, winter” set for the Mediapoint.

Artist: Letat’!

Each of the members of the Letat’! band (which means “to fly!” in Russian) is an independent artist, while together they form a unique music symbiosis. The guys like various genres: pop rock, pop punk and even trip-hop, however their beautiful romantic ballades feature as best. The band is also famous for their videos and even got nicknamed “short films in music”. In 2019 the Letat’! took part in the Nashestvie rock festival, gave concerts on the roof of the VDNH park and in the “16 tons” club. The band’s 2020 concert season will kick off at the “Voskhod” ice rink.

Artist: Beat Devils

The Moscow Beat Devils band ranks as the oldest representatives of the psychobilly genre in Russia, since their first concert took place back in 2001.

Beat Devils have given over 1000 gigs across Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, Belgium, Finland and Cyprus. The boys also cooperated with all the related radio stations worldwide and produced soundtracks for films and videogames. Their latest (fifth) studio album "Dig My Beat" was released on vinyl, CD and digital platforms in Russia, Germany and Japan. The album is devoted to the otherworld magic, shamanic rituals and wild barbaric energy.

Artist: M!kie

Mikhail Mikhailov aka M!kie is a devoted ambassador of the electronic music. He has been a music addict since early childhood and started to collect electronic music since mid-2000s. The musician started his career as a DJ only two years ago, however he managed to perform in dozens of prominent music clubs – Dissident, Aglomerat, Charlie, Squat 3/4, RUIN and others. Besides, M!kie founded “Bar.live” promo brand with dozens of vibrant parties being held so far. The DJ is currently working on a new project related to travelling and performances in unusual locations. M!kie prepares a distinguished and deep DJ set, mixing downtempo and electroprog for his performance in the Mediapoint in Gorky Park.

Artist: Sattva Project

Sattva Project is an indie-pop band founded by composer and producer Alina Sankalpas in 2013. The repertoire of the project includes songs in four languages (Russian, English, French and Italian), what makes it a unique project in Russia as such. Sattva Project was also commended abroad – its tracks were included in the playlists of the world famous compilations, including Cafe del Mar and Buddha Bar. The band managed to reach the finals of the international festival Metro on Stage for two years running.

DARÏYA is a young soul, jazz and blues singer with a strong, deep and distinctive voice coupled with modern sounding vibes. The singer’s music is based on the variety of styles, freedom of self-expression, original content and sincerity in addressing the public. Among her landmark projects are a performance with legendary American drummer Willard Dyson and sax player Troy Roberts in the ZINC BAR (New York), release of the song “Not Tonight” on the English label Hero Records together with The Monades band. Her album “A Long Way” (2017) and songs “Whatcha Trying To Do (To Me)?” and “Tell Me, Tell Me!” were released in collaboration with famous funk DJ Anatoly Ice and are being rotated on several radio stations across the world, including the British BBC Radio6.

Founded in 2017, the Moscow band Dezery managed to take part in dozens various music festivals including the largest European one – Sziget. Dezery’s music is about vintage synthesizers, brutal guitars and emotional vocals – pure inspiration by the 80s. The band makes videos, releases albums, their songs both in Russian and English are rotated on the radio. Vivid and energetic indie will fill the ice rink space in the evening of January 11. Artist: Monmart

Moscow band Monmart is a melancholic (but definitely not sad!) pop, where instrumental and electronic music are nicely intertwined. The concert in the Media point will be special: the band will introduce a new singer ­with a beautiful and rare name Rassveta. The girl has been passionate about music since her childhood, she plays guitar and drums and also learns Japanese. Rassveta brought new vibes and energy after previous lead singer Liza had left the band. “We describe the moments of our life which are familiar to everyone, so you may find something close to you in our songs”, songwriter Efim says about their music.

Igor Ryabov, or Nobass, is a radio host, DJ, author of the Jungle Treasure podcast and a devoted junglist. The musician prefers light and kind of space music: from footwork and halfstep to garage and, certainly, drum’n’bass. Artist: Masha Maria

Masha Maria is a tender and lyric indie-pop project from Moscow. Masha has velvety voice and ginger braids, and her songs make you sing even if you do not know the words. Each performance is a mystery, no matter where it takes place – in a small bar or at a music festival. In 2018 Masha Maria ranked among top six in the Sziget festival contest, while their New Year single “Pervyi”, directed by Ilya Lukashyov from Therr Maitz band, rotates every winter in Moscow parks.

Artist: ALAMPA

ALAMPA is a Moscow electronic duo and residents of NOPASSPORT label. Their music reflects deep emotional revelations. The debut song “Run or Defence” in 2018 happened to be scene-stealing. Their mini-album “Paranoia” with a remix by Canadian director and Grammy nominee James Teej brought the band in March 2019 their first million streams on Spotify, top raitings in Russian iTunes and a contract with a Dutch independent major label Armada Music.

Artist: Dana Sokolova

Dana Sokolova is an alternative rock band, named after their frontwoman. Dana differs with her unique voice and eccentric style. She managed to sign her first big contract having overtaken 2500 competitors in the “Young blood” contest by Black Star label. Alternative music was a completely new direction for the label, and it helped Dana to organize a full rock band. The first video which starred Dana with her band was “Indigo” by Scroodgee rap artist (2017).  Russian “Friday!” TV channel chose her song “Strela” as a soundtrack for its “Patsanki”(Ladette to Lady) reality show. In February 2018, the band released its debut album and toured dozens of cities with gigs.

Artist: DJ Sasha Jazzman & AndreyNovak

Sasha Jazzman plays mostly drum’n’bass- and breaks in Moscow, being a resident of such iconic parties like Steppin Sessions, Battlefield and United Colors. Since 2001, the DJ has travelled through the country and neighboring countries with his vinyl collection, offering the best samples of liquid and jump-up mixes flavored with jazz and funk vibes.

Andrey Novak started his career as a DJ in 1995 soon after he happened to hear the famous “Garage FM” show on Europa Plus radio station performed by Sukhov, Viper and Zig-Zag. In 1998 he dived into vinyl and that very time started to work on the legendary “Station106.8” (the first Russian radiostation devoted to dancing and alternative electronic music). Enjoy the ideally directed sets from real professionals – broken beats, analogue sound and rave atmosphere.

Artist: TRITON

The TRITON band was founded in Novosibirsk back in 2005.  The musicians Denis Sokolov and Pavel Serdyukov have been playing covers for a long time, trying to find their own style. Later they moved to Moscow, and Denis took part in the “Voice” and “New wave” shows. As the band rose, drummer Arkady joined the guys. TRITON will play an acoustic set at the Media  point – this evening is expected to be very romantic.

ERICKA JANES is an indie rock-musician from Moscow. In 2018 Ericka took part in The Voice UA show, choosing Sergey Babkin from 5’nizza band among the three judges who turned their chairs to her. After coming back to Moscow she released two singles and a debut acoustic EP – “Torn & Helpless". Janes shows great progress: she composes, records and releases singles, takes part in festivals and city venues, performs in collaborations and solo. Her romantic and sensual songs will create a festive mood even without snow, so take you beloved ones with.

Artist: HARU

HARU is probably the most outstanding k-pop singer in the city. Yury Pak was born in Vladivostok in a Korean family, moved to Moscow in 2001 and took up music. He rocketed from street performances to city tours and became a host of the K-pop Chart on MTV Russia. This year HARU released two albums, his songs are broadcast on Love Radio, Zhara FM, Radio Record, Strana FM, while his videos surpass one million views on YouTube in the first days. This autumn HARU gave concerts at the largest venues: Izvestia Hall (Moscow), Aurora (Saint Petersburg). HARU perfectly matches the Media point format – he is a young and dazzling artist who creates the new type of pop-music that you will hear at the “Voskhod” ice rink quite often this season.

Artist: Asammuell

Asammuell is among those artists who dreamed of being a musician since childhood. Ksenia learned to pick out her favorite songs as a kid, what later evolved in composing her own songs and forming a band. Asammuell's music brings western spirit into new Russian pop-music. In her debut album “You” the singer shared 11 personal stories, intertwined with her feelings and emotions. This autumn Asammuell gave shows in 16 tons club (Moscow) and Akakao (St. Petersburg).
