The Ballerina is the work of Soviet sculptor Elena Yanson-Manizer.
Legendary Soviet ballerina Galina Sergeevna Ulanova from the Bolshoi Theatre served as the model for the sculpture. The sculpture was installed in the park after the war. A legendary installation was located here prior to this – the Parachute Tower (Parashiutnaya Vyshka), one of the park’s symbols. The first installation of its kind, the tower was one of the most-loved attractions of visitors to the park in the 1930s and - 40s.
